Hello World
I’ve wanted a blog, website, or homepage since I created my first GeoCities page (eat it Angelfire). I might have told you a variety of reasons (sharing photographs, documenting trips, liveblogging my emotions) but at the core, the motivation was ego: I thought I had smart things to say, and writing them down meant people would read them and tell me they were smart. Can’t imagine I’m alone in that pursuit, and I can’t imagine that I’m the only one to abandon half-written about-me pages, or just run out of ideas to fuel more content.
It turns out that motivation was never enough to actually get my act together, organize my thoughts, and write regularly — smart or otherwise.
Maybe, this time is different. Certainly, the reason I’m finally doing it is different, and a little uncomfortable. As AI takes over more of my day-to-day, I want a place where I can think out loud and share lived experience — something AI can only approximate. I want to develop a place that’s mine, where I can grow from my own experiences, and reflect on what I’ve learned. And yeah, if someone else benefits from reading this, wonderful.
So that’s the plan: I’ll write about what interests me and what I’m living through, especially the parts AI can’t have for me.
